Board of Directors
Faye Wightman, Chair (Vancouver, British Columbia)
Faye is the President and CEO of Vancouver Foundation, Canada’s largest community foundation. Prior to joining Vancouver Foundation, she was Vice President of External Relations at the University of Victoria.
Faye has served on a number of Boards including Pacific Opera Victoria, Victorian Order of Nurses, BC Save the Children and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Her volunteer work has helped enrich communities, advance health care and further education, and has shaped BC’s philanthropic landscape.
Ross Harwood, Treasurer (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan)
Ross Harwood is a member of the Saskatoon Community Foundation Board.
Ross was been a partner with Deloitte & Touche for 25 years, primarily involved with audit and tax matters related to corporations of all sizes. He is a top fund-raiser for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and volunteers with United Way, Crimestoppers, the Saskatoon Blades and serves as Chair of the Board for Cedar Villa Estates.
Rahul K. Bhardwaj (Toronto, Ontario)
Rahul Bhardwaj is the President and CEO of the Toronto Community Foundation. Formerly a corporate lawyer with a leading Canadian law firm, Rahul served as Vice President of the Toronto 2008 Olympic Bid and more recently as CEO of United Way of York Region.
Rahul has a long history of community service, including sitting as a member on many of Ontario’s premier not-for-profit boards.
Rahul is a popular presenter and speaker, particularly on issues relating to the city, community and leadership as well as Toronto’s Vital Signs.
Marina Boulos-Winton (Montreal, QC)
Marina Boulos-Winton is President and CEO of the Foundation of Greater Montreal (FGM) and has more than 20 years of experience in non-profit management. She recently returned to her native Montreal after living and working for 12 years in New York City.
Prior to joining FGM, she was Executive Director of High Water Women Foundation, an organization connecting senior women working in the financial sector with opportunities in philanthropy. She also served as President and CEO of the national “I Have a Dream” Foundation®, with 70 chapters in 20 states.
Margaret Delisle (Quebec City, Quebec)
Margaret Delisle has a long history as a volunteer in the charitable sector, including her role as a founding member of the Fondation communautaire du grand Québec.
A former Minister in the Government of Quebec and former Chair of the Federation of Canadian Federation of Municipalities, Margaret is well known for her commitment to the quality of life for all in communities, especially for children and youth.
Fluent in both English and French, Margaret presently serves on the Executive Committee of the Fondation communautaire du grand Québec.
Gordon Durnan (Gravenhurst, Ontario)
Gordon Durnan spent 35 years in health care philanthropy and charitable management. In 2006, the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy honoured him with Life Membership status. A proven development professional with an outstanding record of achievement, Gord has spearheaded various successful annual giving programs such as the York Central Hospital in Richmond Hill where the program was the first in Canada to reach the $1 million level, and the South Muskoka Hospital, to name two.
Gord now works as independent fundraising counsel for small institutions.
Gord serves in a volunteer role as the inaugural Chair of the Muskoka Community Foundation.
Martin Garber-Conrad (Edmonton, Alberta)
Martin Garber-Conrad has been Chief Executive Officer of Edmonton Community Foundation (ECF) since March 2005. New ECF initiatives for which he is responsible include the Social Enterprise Fund and the Edmonton & Area Land Trust.
For the previous 18 years Martin was executive director of E4C—a community organization that operates a variety of programs for women, children and youth-at-risk, primarily in the areas of housing, feeding, employment and outreach.
Martin is Vice Chair of Homeward Trust and on the steering committees for several collaborative programs in social and community services and education.
Victoria McKenzie Grant (Temagami and Toronto, Ontario)
Vicki Grant is an honourary Director of the Temagami Community Foundation, a community foundation created as partnership between Aboriginal and other community members. She spearheaded the creation of this foundation and chaired its board for its first four years.
Vicki began her working career as the first band administrator of the Temagami First Nation. Vicki has strong community development skills and knowledge of aboriginal issues and sits on various advisory committees including the Indigenous Health Research Development Program and Trans Canada Pipelines Chair in Aboriginal Health at the University of Toronto.
Jennifer Guy (St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador)
Jennifer Guy is a member of the Board of the Community Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Jennifer was with the CBC for 25 years as host, producer and reporter and was the founding producer/host of CBC Newsworld's Medicine File. She also served as executive director of Public Affairs and Communications with the Ontario Medical Association and worked in public relations for Memorial University, St. Clare’s Hospital and the General Hospital.
Jennifer plays a key role in volunteerism, serving on various Boards including the Board of Regents of Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Terry Jackson (Oakville, Ontario)
Terry Jackson is Chair of The Community Foundation of Oakville (CFO) Board.
Terry is former Vice-Chair, Nesbitt Burns and Executive Vice-President of BMO Financial Group.
His strong leadership and management skills have been key to his ability to successfully engage others in his community in various initiatives. He successfully chaired the CFO Endowment Building Committee and is a member of the Foundation’s Finance and Investment committee. He is involved in the McGill University Desautels Faculty of Management Advisory Board and active in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Leanne Hammond Komori (Kelowna, British Columbia)
Leanne Hammond Komori is the Executive Director of the Central Okanagan Community Foundation.
Leanne has worked in the charitable sector for 12 years, with 10 years experience working in service delivery, program management and as executive director of a national youth serving charity. She continues to be involved in various volunteer positions in her community serving as chair of committees, lead volunteer in various initiatives and as member of service groups.
Bob McCulloch (Treherne, MB)
Bob is the Chair of the Tiger Hills Community Foundation. He has served on numerous other local boards and has been professionally active throughout Manitoba. A lawyer by profession, Bob is an elected Life Member of the Council of the Manitoba Bar Association and has been active with the Canadian Bar Association as well.
While the Tiger Hill Community Foundation is a young foundation and has required much of Bob’s time, Bob has been able to take part in CFC conferences and regional meetings over the years.
Maureen Molot (Ottawa, Ontario)
Maureen Molot served on the Board of the Community Foundation of Ottawa from 1993 to 2006 and was Board Chair from 2003 through 2004. She has been a member of the CFC Board since 2006.
She current serves on the Boards of the Canada School of Public Service, the Ward Foundation, and the Hillel Lodge Long Term Care Foundation.
Over 2008 she was a member of the Community Foundation of Ottawa’s short-term Grants Task Force.
Maureen is a Distinguished Research Professor at Carleton University in Ottawa.
Sandra Richardson (Victoria, British Columbia)
Sandra has been the Executive Director/ CEO of the Victoria Foundation for the last seven years. She previously was Director of Development and Planned Giving with the Victoria Hospice & Palliative Care Foundation.
Sandra has a background in nursing, has completed a Communications & Public Relations program and has subsequently received the Vancouver Island Public Relations Professional of the Year Award. Sandra has been a member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) for over 10 years and served as Chair of the Vancouver Island Roundtable for four years. She is an active participant in the Transatlantic Community Foundation Network.
Vincenza Travale (Hamilton, Ontario)
Vincenza (Vincie) Travale was first elected to the CFC Board in 2004. She served as Chair from 2007-2008.
Vincie has a track record of community leadership and outstanding governance skills as well as a passion and belief in the role of community foundations across Canada.
Now retired, Vincie is still a well-known Hamilton educator who held a series of positions in the Catholic School Board, each with increasing responsibility. Her positions as Principal, Education Officer, Area Superintendent and Associate Director extended her personal and professional gifts to thousands of students, parents and colleagues.
